God Wants To Show You More

Daniel VillarrealBlog

Jeremiah 33:3  – ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ There is a realm of the unknown where God wants to show you things. Things that can only be discovered through prayer. Prayer is not simply crisis management. Not problem solving. Prayer is the development of relationship. It’s how we get to know the ways of God, the heart of God and the purposes of God. Ephesians 1:17 – I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. GAC JAMAICA MISSION TRIP UPDATE: DAY 1

Daniel VillarrealBlog

GAC JAMAICA MISSION TRIP UPDATE: DAY 1 Our Grace Avenue Mission Trip Team has arrived in Jamaica safely and are ready to dive into what God has in store. They are settled in and begin VBS and Youth Activation Services tomorrow morning. Day 1 ended with a team devotion where they went over what the ministry in Jamaica looks like. The Stewart’s, the family our team is staying with, had a calling from God to become missionaries and answered the call by asking God to send them into the most needed area. Here in Jamaica, 96% of the kids have been abused physically, sexually or mentally before the age of 12 and most of them come from broken homes. Most … Read More

15 KEYS TO FINDING THE RIGHT PEOPLE:

Daniel VillarrealBlog

15 KEYS TO FINDING THE RIGHT PEOPLE: Leading people is not easy but it’s especially tough in church life. It is an emotional, mental and spiritual job. In “the regular world” you hire/fire/coach/reprimand/replace, etc. And there’s almost an accepted liberty to speak of people negatively based on there lack of performance, dropping the ball or “getting the job done.” In church life though, it is a different set of rules because it’s a not about a goal, but rather the most important cause in which we will ever participate together. We serve a King and His Kingdom and He calls us to love one another as we serve His purpose on the earth. As we serve together and get closer … Read More

Praying for Men Today

Daniel VillarrealBlog

Everyday we see countless tragedies on the news committed my men….men, who have never been taught HOW to be men. It’s a sad reality what the lack of fathers in our country has produced. How it continues to produce males that don’t know how to be men. When I say lack of fathers, that also refers to men who have children, but are still living like boys. From violence, to self absorption, to confusion and perpetual adolescence, men are all around us in body, but so many are not walking in their purpose, function or calling. Might I add, that this has little to do with the hobbies a man might have, how “childlike” he is in his persona or … Read More

Good Friday “Night of Worship” – 7:30pm

Daniel VillarrealBlog

Experience a powerful night of worship and communion as we remember Good Friday with a 1 hour service beginning at 7:30pm. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. (Is. 53:5)

The BOLD Project

Daniel VillarrealBlog

The BOLD Project was born from a conviction that every time the women of GAC come together to be encouraged and equipped, we also turn our hearts outward to help those in need. Proverbs 31:20 says “She opens her hands to the poor, yes, she reaches out her filled hands to the needy.” I love this scripture, because I believe wholeheartedly that our hands are full! We have been positioned at a time and place in history where we find ourselves with choices and opportunities women could scarcely dream of in the past. What can we accomplish with all of our knowledge and resources? How can we partner with God and each other to see His purposes accomplished? This Friday we will … Read More

RECAP: Vision Sunday 2015

Daniel VillarrealBlog

What a powerful Sunday! Yesterday I spoke to two amazing services about the direction we are headed toward as a church, in 2015 . I started off with a quote “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision” – Helen Keller  Vision is so important when it comes to our life and the life of our church. Its one thing to see that we are married, and another to remember what God intends our marriage to be. It’s one thing to attend church, and another to be a church in action in the broken world we face everyday. Vision Sunday is a yearly reminder for us to remember the “why” behind what we do as a church. In some ways it’s like realigning … Read More
